Welcome to this year’s first edition of the brilliant Malmesbury Matters.
We have lots of content to cover in September’s edition; news and events, school trips, sports news, and catching up with our new Year 7s.
Featuring: boybands, huge sporting achievement, invaluable out of classroom experiences and much more!
We hope that all our Year 7 students will quickly settle into Malmesbury School. We are holding an introductory meeting for parents of Year 7 students this Thursday 8 September in the Hall. The aim of this meeting is to pass on information to parents about the school, contact between school and parents, the expectations we have of students and how parents can help their children settle into the work patterns of secondary school. It will be an opportunity for parents to ask questions and pass on any information about their son/daughter to staff. It is not intended for students to attend.
More details can be found here.
The final Malmesbury Matters before the Summer Holidays! In this edition; Robotics team compete in the South West finals, STEM career visits, Athelstan Festival of Speech and Debate, and a look at some of the achievements, events and trips taken by our students.

Money saving central has published a list of restaurants and cafes where kids can eat free (or for £1) during half terms. This may be worth checking out; we hope this helps parents and caregivers throughout the school holidays. Please note because the restaurants and cafes may be subject to change we would advise using their site rather than the illustrative image above.
All information and images are credited to money saving central.
The Art department are very excited to be visiting the Fresh Air show with 30 of our outstanding artists from year 8. We will be given a tour of the show followed by an artist led workshop.
