I have studied at Malmesbury School since Year 7 and I have had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Throughout my time at Malmesbury School, I have been well supported in all subjects and was always encouraged to aim high. The excellent quality of teaching and friendly environment means that I would not have wanted to study anywhere else.

I was particularly well supported throughout my sixth form years. I felt well prepared for my exams due to the help from my teachers and my tutors were always available for any queries I had. The school also provided me with useful guidance throughout the admission process to university. The mock interviews that the school arranged really prepared me for the Oxford interview which allowed me to feel more comfortable on the day. As a result, I received an offer to read Material Science at Corpus Christi College, Oxford. I wanted to study a subject which kept Maths, Physics and Chemistry at its centre whilst also being relevant to real world applications.

I am very grateful for all that Malmesbury School has provided me and I would recommend the school without hesitation to any prospective students.

During my time at Malmesbury sixth form I studied chemistry, biology, maths and further maths A level. In all my lessons I felt fully supported in achieving my goals and the enthusiasm of the teachers for their subjects influenced my work ethic. I decided I wanted to study chemistry at university and with the help of the school received an offer to study a masters in chemistry at New College, Oxford.

I found the school were particularly helpful whilst I was writing my personal statement, with not only my tutor but many other subject teachers reading it and giving useful tips. By the time I applied I felt they had helped me reach the best version it could be. The school also provided me with a practice interview before I went to my interviews in Oxford which I felt put me at ease in that I had a little bit of experience. The practice interview was with someone familiar with my subject and also with university admissions so their feedback was very valuable.

I’ve been at Malmesbury for 7 years now and I honestly don’t think I could have had a better time anywhere else. My final two years, in the sixth form, especially shaped the person I am today and helped me to achieve my goals and more. I studied maths, further maths, physics and chemistry.

My teachers were extremely supportive in getting me my grades that allowed me to go on and study at Worcester College Oxford to read mathematics. Any queries I had with any of my subjects were put to bed promptly and efficiently by the crack team of teaching and support staff in the sixth form. I would thoroughly recommend this sixth form to anyone.

Whilst completing my GCSEs at another school, I visited a number of schools to review their sixth form facilities, before choosing to take my A Levels at Malmesbury School. Despite being new to the school, I was made to feel very welcome and the tremendous support from both staff and students helped me to settle in very quickly. Apart from my A Levels, I also enjoyed getting involved in extracurricular activities, such as the school plays.

I wanted to study Maths because the subject is of particular interest and it will have wide range of applications post University. Malmesbury School really supported my aspiration to secure a place at Oxford, in particular providing guidance with my UCAS application and arranging mock interviews to help prepare me for the real interviews at Oxford. After achieving the A Level grade requirements, I am really looking forward to going to university in October.
