KS3
Students in Key Stage 3 will receive three reports from the school during the academic year.
Two of these will be “interim reports”; these are reports without teacher comments, which indicate effort and progress to allow parents to check on how each subject teacher feels their child is progressing.
Further to the interim reports, students in Year 7 and 8 will receive one more report containing comments from their form tutor about their wider contribution to life at Malmesbury School. Students in Year 9 will receive one more detailed report with written comments from their subject teachers.
Parents’ Consultation Evenings take place six times a year to offer parents an opportunity to discuss specific concerns about progress with teachers should any arise from reports, or through other communication with teachers.
All reports are sent home with an accompanying letter to explain the details provided within the report.
KS4 and KS5
Students in Key Stage 4 and 5 will receive two interim reports each year, and one more detailed report with subject specific comments and targets from their teachers. As well as comments on effort, “projected grades” are reported, which indicate the most likely grade a student will achieve at the end of the course based on all the evidence a teacher has, and assuming their effort, attendance and progress remains the same.
Parents’ Consultation Evenings take place six times a year to offer parents an opportunity to discuss specific concerns about progress with teachers should any arise from reports, or through other communication with teachers.
All reports are sent home with an accompanying letter to explain the details provided within the report.
