What is The Duke of Edinburgh's Award?
A life-changing experience. An opportunity to have fun with friends. A chance to discover new interests and talents. A tool to develop essential skills for life and work. A recognised mark of achievement, respected by employers. The DofE is many things to many people, supporting generations to successfully navigate life.
At Malmesbury School there is an established and successful programme of students participating in the DofE Award at Bronze (Yr 9), Silver (Yr 10) and Gold (Yr 12).
There are four sections to complete at all three levels. They involve helping the community/environment, becoming fitter, developing new skills, planning, training for and completing an expedition. At Gold, there is an additional section, a residential.
Any young person can complete a DofE Award. It's not a competition or about being first. It's all about setting personal challenges and pushing personal boundaries.

2026- 27 Programme
Bronze and Silver: Enrolment forms have been emailed home, or pop into the Finance Office to pick up a hard copy. Enrol by October 20th 2026
Gold: Launches Jan 2027.

We encourage you to buy used or borrow items wherever possible to make things as cost effective for your pocket and our planet. We also have a limited number of items we can loan out (please enquire).
