KS3

Students in Key Stage 3 will receive three reports from the school during the academic year.

Reports will include indicators to inform parents on progress and attitude to learning. One of the three reports will also include a “tutor comment” providing further feedback about how a student is engaging with school in general, how they conduct themselves and their engagement with clubs and tutor activities.

All reports are sent home with an accompanying letter to explain the details provided within the report.

KS4 and KS5

Students in Key Stage 4 and 5 will receive three interim reports each year. They will include a target grade and indicators to provide information on a pupil’s attitude to learning and progress.

One of the three reports will also include a “tutor comment” providing further feedback about how a student is engaging with school in general, how they conduct themselves and their engagement with clubs and tutor activities.

“Projected grades” included in these reports indicate the most likely grade a student will achieve at the end of the course based on all the evidence a teacher has, and assuming their effort, attendance and progress remains the same.

All reports are sent home with an accompanying letter to explain the details provided within the report.

Progress Evenings

As well as the three interim reports, parents/carers will be invited to make appointments with subject teachers so that they can receive subject specific feedback about their child’s progress. These appointments will be 5 minutes long (10 minutes in the 6th form in most cases) and will be conducted virtually via School Cloud SchoolCloud – Malmesbury School. An email will be sent to parents/carers prior to the booking system going live with links to supporting guidance on how to use the system.

Progress evenings provide an opportunity to receive general update about student progress. The time of these appointments are limited in order to make the evening feasible. Parents who require more feedback are encouraged to contact outside of these evenings via mailin@malmesbury.wilts.sch.uk, stating clearly the teacher from whom they require contact and the questions they wish to have addressed.
